Alzheimer’s disease prevents the brain from properly using the glucose found in our diet, which causes energy drops and leads to memory loss. Using an alternative fuel, ketones, could compensate for this deficit. But how can we generate more ketones in our bodies? Quite simply, we need to walk more. This was discovered by the team of Stephen Cunnane, a professor and researcher at the University of Sherbrooke’s Faculty of Medicine and the Sherbrooke Research Centre on Aging.
